about EKM

Essential Kitchen Maintenance conducts its business with the knowledge and experience of the aged care industry. EKM services many of the largest aged care providers along with supermarkets, pubs, and an array of food outlets throughout NSW, QLD, VIC and SA.

EKM’s knowledge and experience comes from an understanding of the regulations, accreditation and food audits posed upon these industries. 

 

Kitchen exhaust

Cleaning and maintaining is a must for all kitchen exhausts whether home or commercial, small or large, or with little hours of cooking. A typical suggestion would be to service every 6 or 12 months. This service involves cleaning the canopy, filter frames, ducting, gutters and the outside surfaces of the rangehood, including the roof where the exhaust motor is located.  

Filter maintenance

Filter exchanging should be serviced on a weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly basis. This is where the accumulation of grease is most present. EKM has attached the Australian Standards document for the recommendation for the frequency of service.

Laundry exhaust

Laundry maintenance requires a similar process to the above two services. The only difference is laundries may need more frequent servicing. Laundries also have ducting which may be five or more meters long. Access panels along the ducting are the service areas where cleaning is made possible. If there isn’t any access panels EKM will make new access points.

The key is to eliminate the fire hazards from all of the above services.

Industrial kitchen cleaning

All surfaces including storage areas, cool rooms, windows, light fixtures, descaling of dishwasher, fryers, basically a top-to-toe sanitise and steam clean.

On completion of all works 'above and below' certificates are presented to each site, along with a schedule of the next services to be completed.

Before EKM commences work a phone call is made to advise the Maintenance Manager, Director of Nursing or staff to insure that everybody is aware of the service that is being conducted on that day.

EKM has the ability to service clients 24/6 (7).  NSW, QLD, VIC and SA.

General maintenance

EKM does provide other maintenance services such as water pressure cleaning of paths and loading bays etc. We are also able to arrange repairs of all your kitchen equipment.

Painting

EKM can provide all painting needs, inside and out.

Photographic

'Before and after' photos of each service can be seen through the client log, or phone for a printed picture to hang on the wall.

Equipment

A Vega Steam Machine is used to clean kitchen areas and equipment.

A Karcher Water Pressure cleaner is used for paths, roofs and loading bays.

 

Police checks

All EKM staff has current Australian police checks.

Charity

EKM donates a percentage of our annual turn over to several charities. The McGrath Foundation, Dementia Care Australia, The Fred Hollows Foundation.
